A computer-assisted translation (CAT) is a translation made by humans with the assistance of computer programs. These CAT tools are not to be confused with MT translation programs (machine translation).
CAT tools are based on a translation memory with an integrated terminology database and quality control functions. Sentences and specialist terminology that have already been translated are available at any time for the translator.
The advantages of CAT tools:
- Higher quality of translation due to the consistent use of the language style and the specialist terminology of your Company.
- Reusing already translated sentences results in increasing productivity and cost reduction.
